ArcGen Hilta Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships offer excellent benefits for young people allowing them to gain invaluable work experience, learn new skills and work towards a professional qualification.
At ArcGen Hilta we nurture fresh talent and believe our most important asset is our people. In 2009 we were voted Best Place to Work in the Construction Industry by our employees. The most determined and focussed apprentices have continued to work at ArcGen Hilta, progressing through the ranks and securing managerial positions.
ArcGen Hilta currently runs a workshop apprenticeship programme in industrial applications through the National Government apprenticeship scheme.
This is a structured work-based training programme starting at level 2 NVQ in performing manufacturing operations. The apprentice can then choose to take either a mechanical or electronic engineering pathway, dependent upon job role, ability and preference.
At ArcGen Hilta, we currently have three apprentices on this programme and there are some who have been with ArcGen Hilta for over 15 years including John Brogan who recently celebrated 30 year long service recognition award and Dave Pugh who now holds the position of Production Team leader.

“I’ve always wanted to pursue a career in Electronic Engineering but wanted to learn in a hands on environment, the apprenticeship scheme has allowed me to do this. At ArcGen Hilta I have my own mentor who helps me manage my work load and develop my key skills.”

“After gaining my GCSEs I wanted to get out into the working world and an apprenticeship helped me learn new skills, give me independence and ensure I have a clear focus for the future.”
Matthew
Matthew started at ArcGen Hilta in September 2011 as Apprentice Stores Co-ordinator and will be studying towards an NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse Distribution. through QTT.
